A well known house builder was unwittingly the victim of a web hate campaign following the failure to resolve a new home owners issues with their new home.
The disgruntled customer proceeded to register a defamatory domain name and built an entire blog about the house builder’s alleged poor quality and failure to resolve their issues. The blog contained named individuals, photographs, scans of letters and transcripts of telephone conversations.
The nature of the blog and the interest from other forums and sites created a artificially high ranking against the companies name and led was spiraling out of control.
Thanks to various legal angles, asserted pressure and search engine promotion this content is no longer visible and the damage along with the threat to the business has been contained.
